Good news for the undocumented foreigners in South Africa

There is some good news for illegal foreigners in South Africa who wish to be immunized who are currently in the country illegally.

In response to the cabinet's decision to include them in the Covid-19 immunization program, this is what happened.

After the media conference on Thursday, Acting Minister in the Presidency Khumbudzo Ntshavheni responded to a question about how the process will be carried out, stating that the undocumented will be documented by the Department of Home Affairs before receiving their injections.

She stated that as part of the agreement with the Covid-19 vaccine makers, the members of the community were obliged to be identifiable and traceable.

She indicated that as a result of this, the Department of Home Affairs would begin working on it immediately. Having the ability to follow members of the public is necessary so that they can receive assistance if they experience any side effects.

According to the Acting Minister, the homeless would be given the same opportunity as everyone else.

The Department of Home Affairs would be in responsibility of ensuring that they were properly documented, according to her remarks. Ministry of Housing Minister Ntshavheni remarked that the homeless' papers will enable the government to provide them with social services and place them in social centers.

It has not been announced when the Department of Home Affairs will document the undocumented and homeless in order for them to be able to get vaccinated.

By making the vaccination effort available to everyone in the community, the government will be one step closer to reaching its herd immunity objective.

It is anticipated that undocumented members of the town will be pleased with the news because it means that they will be able to obtain other services in addition to immunizations.

Undocumented workers have a tough time getting work and maintaining their positions. When it comes to the homeless and illegal foreign nationals, on the other hand, having proper documentation will go a long way toward ensuring that they will be eligible for government assistance.

In a recent announcement, the Minister of Social Development stated that applications for the R350 Unemployment Grants would be available shortly.

It applies to members of the general public who are legally employed yet are unable to find work. Exemptions are only granted to foreigners who possess the necessary papers.

It is anticipated that the move by Minister Ntshavheni to require undocumented foreign nationals to be documented first will improve their chances of winning grant money.
