Hotel maids reveal the best kept tricks and secrets they never tell guests

The primary purpose of hotels is to provide travelers with shelter, food, refreshment, and similar services and goods, offering on a commercial basis things that are customarily furnished within households but unavailable to people on a journey away from home.

Hotels are considered an important economic component to any community. In some cases, cities and municipalities will offer incentives in order to stimulate hotel development. These incentives can be in the form of tax breaks, favorable land leases, or assistance with financing.

A hotel maid revealed that staff sometimes have a nap in the guest’s hotel rooms. Especially if they are cleaning a large suite and have more time allocated to clean it.

“Something else we do sometimes is that we use the toilets in the guest’s bathroom, but only if we are super busy and don’t have enough time to go to the staff toilets,” the maid in Orlando says. “It is something we are not supposed to do, but many do it anyway.”

If anyone knows a thing or two about quick-yet-efficient cleaning, it's hotel maids. They have tons of practice and loads of tips that can help you at home.

“To be honest though, management is more annoying. Sometimes they have high expectations, but they don’t give you enough time.”

Because of the time crunch, most maids are not able to clean each room as thoroughly as they'd like, and they skip tasks such as vacuuming, scrubbing the bathtub, and cleaning under the bed.
