The Festive season is here. Here is a list of places you can visit this summer in Limpopo.
Phiphidi Falls
Phiphidi lies within the forest on the Mutshindudi River.
It has a beautiful waterfall that attracts tourists from around the world. And a big rock above the waterfall called LanwaDzongolo.
And the pool below is called Guvhukuvhu.
Phiphidi Falls is owned by the Ramunangi people, from a Venda Clan. This is where they connect with their ancestors. It is said that you are only allowed to visit the falls after you have been given permission by the elders of the Ramunangi people. Or after you have contacted travel companies who work with the Ramunangi people.
Thathe Vondo Forest
Thathe Vondo Forest is located in the mountains above Lake Fundudzi.
From the lake you can drive to the Mahovhovho water which is a really beautiful breathtaking experience.
Unfortunately no hiking is allowed in the forest due to the cultural status of the Venda people.
Balule Game Reserve
Balule is home to the Big Five and popularly known for its abundance of birdlife and wildlife.
Visiting Balule will be a great experience, you will get to see the Big Five roaming around, like the Lions, Rhinos, Buffalo, Leopard and Elephants.
Thaba Kwena Crocodile Farm
Thaba Kwena is the largest commercial crocodile farm in South Africa. With 22000 crocodiles, big and small. Thaba Kwena is located in Modimolle.
Frozen crocodile meat is also sold in the farm.
