“This is daylight robbery, We worked for 10 years in SA” - Zims Instructed to leave SA

South Africa is home to a diverse array of people of other nations. Why is it that Zimbabweans are being singled out?

I am writing with a sense of dissatisfaction. I have been granted an exemption permit to travel to Zimbabwe. Was it too much to ask for the government to let us know three years ago that they won't be renewing our permits and provide us with information on other options?

I am taken aback by the directive that we leave South Africa.

My visa was due to expire in January 2021, but I renewed it in January 2018, and now it won't be given until October 2021, just three months before the deadline.

It took the Department of Home Affairs three years to complete the processing of the application. Why are they only giving us a year to pack everything up and leave? We had to pay for our licenses; they were not provided free of charge.

This is literally a daylight robbery. We have both policy and investments in South Africa, where we worked for a decade. What is going to become of those people?

This is only an exercise in playing politics. Zimbabweans are the only ones being singled out despite the fact that South Africa is home to many different nationalities. What about the rest of them?
