Britain banned tour from six Southern African countries after South Africa located the COVID-19 Omicron variant.

The selection will take effect from Wednesday at 4am.

Health Minister Sajid Javid also introduced the measure to MPs in parliament as Prime Minister Boris Johnson seeks their backing for his new regulations to reduce the spread of Omicron.
