There's a post making rounds on the social media streets, whereby an organization, The Zimbabwean Exemption Permit Holders Association, representing over R250 000 Zimbabweans living in South Africa is pleading with the SA government to please give those Zimbabweans permanent residency in South Africa.
On top giving those Zimbabweans permanent residence in South Africa, they also want the government to issue them South African IDs, since they've been living in the country for an extended period of time.
The reason why they're pushing for the permanent residency in the country right now is because their permits are expiring in November, so they're now left with just two weeks before they will illegally be in this country.
So far no official from Home Affairs has responded to pleads from the The Zimbabwean Exemption Permit Holders Association but then again, even if they don't, you can't really blame them because South Africa is still facing its own problems that needs fixing, Zimbabweans should go to Zimbabwe to fix their country and not hide in this country.
