While they don't usually do this, Eskom has just released a loadshedding schedule for this week to their Facebook page. Below I will give you all the details to it as well as some tips to prepare.
The schedule :
The schedule below covers 03 July 2022 (Today) up to 08 July 2022 (Friday). Please note that it also says that while the schedule for Monday and Tuesday are confirmed, the schedule for the rest of the days can be changed due to other factors.
As we can see, there is a period of stage 6 Loadshedding confirmed for tomorrow (Monday) while for all the other days it's stage two and four, with the exception of Tuesday which had a stage 5 period and Friday which has a stage 3 period.
Tips to Prepare :
Now that we have the loadshedding Schedule for this week, we can more accurately prepare for it. Here are some tips.
First and foremost while these cover the loadshedding times for the Country, they are not the loadshedding times for specific areas, so find that online or by downloading a loadshedding application.
Once you have the loadshedding schedule for your area, gather the supplies you will need to prepare. Most importantly a light source. You can either use candles, torches, gas lamps or rechargeable lights, however if you are using gas lamps or candles, make sure to not leave them unattended as they can be a fire hazard.
I also advise to keep light meals like noodles or meals that you don't have to heat up handy, so that you can quickly prepare them before the power goes out. Finally keep checking Eskom's social media pages to see if updates are posted or the schedule is changed.
What do you think of the schedule and these tips, tell me in the comments section and follow for more lifestyle news as it happens.
