More key developments with Chiefs chase for their target player?

Midfielder Pule Mmodi is reportedly still being pursued by Kaizer Chiefs, however he has since been seen practicing with Golden Arrows. It has been widely rumored for a while that Kaizer Chiefs are interested in signing Bafana Bafana forward Pule Mmodi, however Golden Arrows do have the option of activating a one-year extension on his contract. It will be interesting to watch how much the playmaker is valued if Arrows are eager to sell the player, and whether or not it deters Chiefs in any way. This valuation is currently anticipated to be in the millions.

It's interesting to note that SABC Sport reported this past weekend that Arrows are still open to the transaction and may have offered Chiefs the first option to get the playmaker for Bafana Bafana. According to the article, Arrows are "extremely keen" to sell this offseason if they don't want to risk Mmodi leaving only in June of the following year on a free transfer.

Mmodi has been seen working out with Golden Arrows as preseason preparations get on despite all the buzz. He might still be an Arrows player for the time being because the transfer cost may have become a sticking point in the negotiations. Notably, Soccer Laduma also stated over the weekend that the deal might not go through during this transfer window. The article implies that while negotiations are still going on, a consensus still needs to be reached regarding the players' market value.

If the parties are unable to come to an agreement on a price, the agreement might be delayed until the next year.

Other recent reports claim that insiders have indicated that the parties have met and that important negotiations will move forward in earnest with Chiefs reportedly prepared to meet Arrows' requests.
