Bongani Zungu is Yellow Again, Mamelodi Sundowns Re-sign Him

Bongani Zungu has returned to Mamelodi Sundowns and was unveiled at Loftus Versfeld ahead of their clash with Kaizer Chiefs.

It’s official. Mamelodi Sundowns have re-signed Bongani Zungu. The news were confirmed on Saturday 13 August 2022, just after their encounter with Kaizer Chiefs.

The 29-year-old has been without a club since he officially parted ways with French side Amiens SC in July.

Zungu left the country in 2016 to play for a team in Portugal named Vitoriade Guimaraes.

Zungu was given a taste of what to expect upon his return with his new teammates thrashing Amakhosi 4-0.

Their fans have been happy after the news were announced

"Sundowns signing of Zungu is a nail in the coffin. The team will be unstoppable," wrote a user.

Great addition to the squad. An experienced elite player who still has a lot to offer. He goes straight into the starting lineup alongside Jali on the middle of the park. We will have more ball control and game management would be better overall.
