SAFA Head of Refs waiting on Chiefs match report

Before taking any action on the yellow card that Zitha Kwinika allegedly received in error, SAFA Head of Referees Abdul Ebrahim is awaiting the referee's match report.Kwinika was incorrectly given a yellow card for a foul committed by teammate Siyabonga Ngezana, which resulted in Mamelodi Sundowns being given a penalty.

Awaiting the Chiefs game report is the SAFA Head of Refs.

On Saturday, the Brazilians defeated the Kaizer Chiefs 4-0 in a DStv Premiership match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.

Depending on what it was for, the yellow card cannot always be reversed, Ebrahim tells KickOff.

We haven't yet received the referee's report; it will presumably be submitted on Monday at 9:00.

We shall be aware of the justifications for the caution as soon as we receive it.

He may have spoken to the referee and received a warning; it may appear to be a mistaken identity, but that is not always the case.

Because the Ngezana challenge was not a cautionable offence, if you look at it.

There were two possible outcomes: either the player received a warning from the referee for blocking a potential attack.

He might have spoken to the referee or he could have warned Kwinika for vocal dissent.

And if there was a mistake, the referee will presumably send a report stating that it was their fault or something similar and that it may be reversed.

I'm sure he said something to the referee, so let's wait and see what the caution was for. Victor is unlikely to make a mistake like that, in my opinion.
