Tshegofatso Mabasa of the Bafana Bafana has made a major decision about his future with the Orlando Pirates.
According to rumors, the Orlando Pirates have exercised their option to extend the contract of star striker Tshegofatso Mabasa!
The Bafana Bafana striker signed a three-year contract with the club in 2019 after leaving Bloemfontein Celtic. He is now in the final six months of his contract.
Mabasa was entitled to talk with other teams as he neared the final six months of his contract with Orlando Pirates, but the Buccaneers acted quickly to keep their star striker.
The Buccaneers have exercised Mabasa's two-year option, ensuring that he will remain with the team until June 2024.
THE PIRATES OF ORLANDO KEEP STAR STRIKER
According to a SoccerLaduma article, "Orlando Pirates have activated their option on striker Tshegofatso Mabasa's contract, keeping the big marksman at the club beyond the current season."
"Tshegofatso Mabasa isn't going anywhere because the Pirates have exercised their option on his contract," a source told the same outlet about the star striker's situation.
"While the player's initial contract was for three years, the club had the option to extend it for another two years, which they have now taken."
MABASA HAS A GOAL IN HIS HEART AT ALL TIMES. DAVIDS –
"He's doing great so far." We know he won't be able to complete 90 minutes at the level of intensity we desire, but we'll take it slowly with him." – Late last year, Orlando Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids commented about Mabasa.
"He always has a goal in him, he's a different type of striker than what we have, and he's always in the right position at the right time," says the manager. Not many athletes have that instinct, that ability to sense when they're in the proper spot. He's got it.
