PSL club goes five matches unbeaten after excellent change in form

PSL club goes five matches unbeaten after excellent change in form

Date: 05/12/2021

The PSL has seen some changes on the log standings after Saturday's results, and Golden Arrows was one of the clubs who landed themselves a good position after they ended their match against Chippa United on a 2-1 victory away from home. Arrows win against Kurt Lentjies side was their second consecutive win in the league and their fifth match without suffering a league defeat.

Golden Arrows was on a good run last season under the management of Mandla Ncikazi, as they ended the campaign on a fourth place finish which was a good campaign for Arrows, but they allowed Mandla Ncikazi to make a move to Orlando Pirates to join Fadlu Davids as co-coach for the Buccaneers.

In the absence of Mandla Ncikazi, Golden Arrows didn't have the same start to the current campaign as they did last season, but their last five matches has proven to be a huge improvement for the PSL side. Golden Arrows last suffered a defeat to Cape Town City FC in a duel which ended 4-3, and picked up three consecutive 0-0 draws against Moroka Swallows, Stellenbosch FC and Orlando Pirates.

After the draws, Golden Arrows won their first match again when they faced Baroka FC and walked away with a 3-2 win at home. Arrows also won their latest fixture against Chippa United 2-1 as they landed the eight place spot. Arrows won their latest fixture against Chippa United all thanks to Michael Gumede who scored in the 7th minute and Pule Mmodi who scored in the 52nd minute.

Chippa United got on the score board as Eva Nga scored in the 34th minute of the match. Golden Arrows latest form could mean that they might land a top four finish again this season without the expertise of Mandla Ncikazi if they could maintain their current form. Golden Arrows are now just four points behind Stellenbosch FC who is in the fourth place spot. Stellenbosch FC is on 22 points as Arrows sit on 18 points.
