Amakhosi who couldn't qualify for the CAF tournament for next season are doing their best behind the scene to rebuild the club. In the past two months Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jnr indicated that the club is planning to release over age players to allow youngsters into the team.Under the former coach Stuart Baxter lot of Kaizer Chiefs youngsters were seating on the bench without any game time.
It is reported that Kaizer Chiefs are chasing Stellenbosch FC defender Athenkosi Mcaba . The 20 years defender who got the call up to represent Bafana Bafana in the past friendlies against Guinea and France ,his contract with the club is coming to end in June 2022.Amakhosi who signed Sibusiso Mabiliso from AmaZulu FC and Austin Dube from Richards Bay both defenders struggled to find game time in their first season at the club.
Kaizer Chiefs drew their last match of the season against Swallows FC ,now the club is on rest since the season is over.Following the negotiations behind the scenes Amakhosi are likely to announce new signings during the upcoming window period.
