Notable results from yesterday's fixtures were that of Stellenbosch Football Club thrashing their much-fancied opponents Kaizer Chiefs Football Club 4 - 1, and log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club easily defeating Swallows Football Club 3 - 0 to cement their place at the top of the DDC league with 10 points from five games.

The pick of Sunday's clash was against Supersport United and Orlando Pirates Football Club, the clash was expected to be right and it was nothing right as Supersport walked all over Pirates at Lucas Moripe Stadium, Pretoria.

The match was cagey in the early minutes with youngsters misplacing passes, and rushing tackles which costs Pirates as Matsantsatsa took the lead through Maziko in the 33rd minute, and from there united took charge of the match.

United doubled their lead in the 41st through Appollis, before wrapping a fantastic first half with a goal from Maseko, in the 43rd minute to make it 3 - 0 to Matsantsatsa at half-time.

The second half started with the Sea Robbers on top as they are tried to come back into the match, and they had two clear-cut chances early in the second but missed both.

Buccaneer's early second-half attacking endeavours paid off, as they pulled one back in the 51st minute through Spandiel, which turned out to be a consolation goal as the match ended 3 - 1 in favour of Supersport.

The results don't reflect the true outcome of the match as Pirates on another day, could have easily won the match.
