Ballon d’ Or: He’s incredible – Zidane snubs Ronaldo, names player who should win award

Ballon d'Or: He's incredible - Zidane snub Ronaldo and nominates a player for the prize.

Zinedine Zidane, the former Real Madrid manager, has spurned Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo in favor of Karim Benzema, the Los Blancos striker, as the player who deserves to win the Ballon d'Or this year.

Benzema, who guided France to the UEFA Nations League title last week, was regarded by Zidane as "an amazing player."

Benzema was just nominated for the Ballon d'Or 30-an nominees.

This year, the France international will compete for the Ballon d'Or against Ronaldo, Lionel Messi of PSG, Jorginho of Chelsea, Robert Lewandowski of Bayern Munich, and others.

On Sunday morning, Zidane told Telefoot that Benzema deserved the Ballon d'Or.

"He's a fantastic player, and I've had the privilege of managing him."

"On a pitch, he can do it everything." He's a cut above the rest, and I'm hoping the Ballon d'Or will reflect that."
