Finally: Chiefs 'Confirms' Their 9th Signing on A Bosman Deal

Kaizer Chiefs have seemingly taken their humiliating 4-0 DStv Premiership defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns to the heart by moving with automatic alacrity to address the position which many of their fans have deafeningly called to be strengthened.

Speculation had swirled in recent days that Chiefs were considering to sign a striker after it became evident in the Sundowns game, that they lacked a proper number 9 who can hold up play and give them a focal point.

The Glamour Boys had been linked with Burundi striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

Meanwhile, the club has this afternoon confirmed that they have acquired his services on a contract until 2024, albeit with an option for a further year. He joins Chiefs on a Bosman deal (free transfer).

"Kaizer Chiefs have signed striker Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana on a two-year deal with a further one-year option. Welcome to the Amakhosi Family. Bimenyimana was born in Bujumbura in 1994. His exceptional football talent has seen him play in a variety of countries," Chiefs confirmed on their official Twitter account.

It's quite a huge turn-about by Chiefs, as the 28-year-old initially spent a couple of weeks training at their famed Naturena facilities in a hope to secure a contract, but was released after the technical team was not entirely convinced by his capabilities.

Bimenyimana has been unattached after leaving Kazakhstan Premier League side KAISAR, where he featured in seven games and failed to score a single goal.

Should Chiefs sign more strikers after the 28-years-old's arrival?

Absolutely, they have to go all out to sign even more strikers.

It is worth noting that the club released atleast three top strikers namely, Leonardo Castro, Samir Nurkovic, and Bernard Parker during the close season.

And keeping in mind that Chiefs have gone longer than seven years without taking home a sizable trophy, they will need more than Ashley Du Preeze and Bimenyimana as their only target men.

The 'Kaizer Chiefs revival,' as the fans have dubbed it, appears to be taking shape though, and fans can anticipate fireworks when they lock horn with Richards Bay this weekend.

What do you make of Caleb's arrival at Chiefs, will he solve their goalscoring problems?
