OPINION |The future is bright, Ethan Brooks is one for the future.

When Hugo Broos announced his 23 men squad for the Qatar 2022 World Cup Qualifies, many football fanatics questioned Hugo Broos' selection while others were brave enough to go out and publicly support the Belgian mentor. Hugo Broos was brave enough to name a very young squad of players. Most of the players who were in Hugo Broos' team played in the COSAFA Cup which South Africa won by beating Senegal on penalties, one of those players was Ethan Brooks.

Ethan Brooks is being tipped to be one for the future, the 20 year old made TS GALAXY midfielder was making his sixth appearence for the national team. Brooks is a versatile midfielder who can play as a box to box midfielder or as an attacking midfielder. As it was seen during the game against Ghana, Brooks was always part of the front four players pressing the Ghana defense when defending for Bafana Bafana. One of Brooks' biggest attributes is his bravery to put his boots in amongst the big boots that fly in, he is very fast and his decision making is a second to none good decision making in the field.

When Broos was named in the starting eleven, many South Africans questioned, Hugo Broos' selection, and one of the main reasons why was because of the exclusion of Sipho Mbule from SuperSport United. Mbule is a very good player, can dribble and pass. It goes with being said that Brooks was selected before Mbule because of his ability to attack and defend when the team is defending. Mbule is good when going forward but he is not that good when it comes to defending.

With Hugo Broos just 20 years old, Sipho Mbule 23 years and Teboho Mokoena 24 years old. It is save to say that the future is looking bright for South African Football. Rushine De Reuck 25 years old, Nyiko Mobbie 25 years old, Evidence Makgopa 21 years old and many other players who did not manage to make it to the starting eleven, if Hugo Broos can help South Africa to qualify for the World Cup, then all those players will be able to shine.
