Ex-Chiefs stars lack of game-time raises eyebrows?

Date: 08/03/2022

Former Kaizer Chiefs star player ignited his spark again after Amakhosi decided to part ways with him after the conclusion of last season as he didn't spend much time without finding a new club in the DStv Premiership to play against his former club who ousted him.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphelele Ntshangase made way from Kaizer Chiefs and made a surprise resurface with Kaizer Chiefs league rivals Marumo Gallants in the DStv Premiership to further develop his career after his stint ended with the Chiefs.

Siphelele Ntshangase after joining Marumo Gallants started training with the club but his absence during competitive matches in the league and CAF Confederations Cup became noticeable as he was part of the club but nowhere to be seen featuring for the club.

Ntshangase made only three appearances for the club since he joined them after his stint with Kaizer Chiefs and last played against Orlando Pirates in October in a match which Gallants eventually lost 2-1.

Marumo Gallants next match will be against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 and since they are the defending Nedbank Cup champions, Siphelele Ntshangase's absence raised eyebrows as he hasn't featured in almost four months.

Gallants assistant coach Raymond Mdaka elaborated on why Ntshangase is a noticeable absentee from the matchday squads. “There are very good players and some of them might not be playing like Ntshangase but what we looked at first was to make sure that we select a team that will give us a result without even giving pressure to the players themselves,” Mdaka told the media.

“There might be some other things that might have made him not to be playing as good as you know him to be a very good player, but the way we have been trying it to say let’s have these [players] that will be able to save us, the whole pool that we have has got equal opportunities and we are working hard on him and hopefully in one of the games you will see him play,” Mdaka added.
