South African and Southern African representatives Orlando Pirates were involved in a Caf Confederations Cup final match , which was play in Nigeria last night aganst Moroccan giants Rvb Berkane. The mighty buccaneers went into the match with more advantage as they were considered the favorites to win the match, given their rich history when it's comes to continental football showpiece.
However the might buccaneers suffered a devastating loss. They played a nil all draw in regular time the match went into the extra time and it ended in 1 all draw , with Tembinkosi Lorch grabbing a late equalizer and so the match had to be decided on shoot out. The might buccaneers went on to lose 5-4 on a dramatic penalty shootout. They came in gun blazing showing major commitment and desire to win , they played real well but it just wasn't their day. Whenever the match goes to penalties it automatically becomes anybodys game. Whoever has the nerves stand a chance to come out the victor. It is heartbreaking to have came all the way to final with high hopes and expectations but end up empty handed.
It's not all lost because it was a learning curve for most of the youngsters they will come out with experience and will live to fight another day. In a situation like it's not about whose to blame or what we just have to appreciate the effort , and give the boys a thumbs for they given a spirited perfomance. They did lost but they certainly made us very proud we take the positives and not the negatives. Well this is your platform you can leave a comment below and share your views.
