Ghana FA asks FIFA to dismiss and punish SAFA severely, calling the claim for rematch a hoax

The argument about wether Ghana won their match against Bafana Bafana fair and square is far from over. South Africans are still leaking their wounds after they were booted out of the World Cup qualifiers in a rather unconventionalunconventional manner.

In a new development, the Ghanian FA has asked the football ruling body, FIFA to dismiss the claims and severely punish Safa. They also called the claim a "hoax". Follwing the encounter which was full of dubious decision by Maguette Ndiaye, the referee, Safa wrote a letter to FIFA expressing their dissatisfaction with the manner in which the Senegales ref handled the match.

The decision to appeal was voiced by Safa immediately after the game. By Monday morning Safa held a press conference in which evidence of the bad officiating was shown to press. The GFA did took kindly to the matter.

At first, the GFA Communication Director, Henry Asante Twum seemed not disturbed by SAFA's decision to appeal. He even said they respect Safa.

“It is shocking, irresponsible, and outright disrespect to note that our colleagues from South Africa Football Association (with whom we have good relationships with and mutual sporting respect) have chosen to spread falsehoods to the media rather than project the real picture of events before, during and after the game.” Read a part of the GFA statement.

Safe responded to the statement through its CEO Tebogo Mothlante, who said:

"The Safa position has never been nine hours. The coach said it was three hours, plus two hours which we can’t blame Ghana for — it is their immigration rules, But we are also saying let’s let the Fifa process take place, and we will respect the decision. We find the GFA’s statement unfortunate and distasteful because it is full of inaccuracies. We did not submit any complaint to the Ghana FA about our treatment in Ghana.” Motlanthe said.

Now Ghana FA is also launching their own complaint to FIFA saying Safa's claim is hoax and should be dismissed. According to the association, Safa failed to follow the right protocols in putting forward their complaint. They also claim the complaint was verbal instead of a written one, which should be submitted within 24 hours of the final whistle.

Their last claim say “SAFA did not provide any evidence or ingredient to support their allegation”, and are asking FIFA to investigate on "Fools Errand".
