The day of reckoning for the Chiefs has arrived, and the Pirates will also face the PSL DC.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi has put up a solid legal argument for the case, led by Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse and former PSL prosecutor Norman Arendse.

The day of reckoning has arrived for Kaizer Chiefs, who will face the Premier Soccer League's disciplinary committee on Friday afternoon. This is in response to their inability to show up for two DStv Premiership games in December. Amakhosi were unable to host Cape Town City and were also unable to go to Durban to play Golden Arrows earlier this month. They had requested that their games for the month be postponed due to a Covid-19 outbreak in Naturena that allegedly affected over 30 persons, including players and other personnel.

Their requests for a postponement were denied because the regulations stipulated that Covid-19 could not be used as a reason for games being postponed or abandoned. Before the season began, every one of the PSL's 32 clubs had signed the regulation.

The hearing was set for January 21 by the PSL's new prosecutor, Zola Majavu, who issued out a public reminder for the DC session on Thursday.

"As a reminder, the Kaizer Chiefs case will be heard tomorrow, Friday, January 21, at 4 p.m. "As soon as that subject is resolved, I will provide another update," Majavu stated.

In the meantime, Chiefs have put together a powerful legal argument for the case, led by Karabo Mathang-Tshabuse and former PSL prosecutor Norman Arendse.

In the meantime, their Soweto neighbors and biggest rivals, the Orlando Pirates, have been summoned to the DC for their own misdeeds.

The Buccaneers have been prosecuted in connection with an incident in December in which TS Galaxy owner Tim Sukazi was denied access to the locker rooms at Orlando Stadium while his team was playing the Pirates.

Orlando Pirates FC was charged yesterday, and their case has been set for a hearing at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26. "This is in relation to the misconduct arising from the chairperson of TS Galaxy being denied entry into the stadium," said the statement. "I will come back and provide specifics on the conclusion of the DC hearing when the DC is finalized, at whatever day and time it may be," Majavu added.
