This could be the year Barcelona's financial woes are relieved. I'm not sure whether it's a blessing in disguise or not but the God's are really looking up upon them. A company from Dubai has offered to inject an amount of £1.2 billion dollars to write off their debts. This could be fantastic or is it? My question is why now? Why not when Messi was at the club? Barcelona had to release one of their greatest players ever due to financial issues. That is now the past and they must prepare for the future with a different perspective. With the release of Messi, thereafter Antione Griezman, Emerson Royal and Junior Firpo soon followed in suite in an attempt to lower their wage bill.
President of Barcelona Joan Laporta did say that the club was going through a metamorphosis. Laportas' job could become easy if the cash injection is agreed upon. Life could be less stressful for Barcelona. The conditions of the offer to Barcelona is very beneficial and will see them standing much firmly on the ground. If Barcelona isn't foolish and put their pride aside, the funds could be made available immediately. In plain English, Barcelona as a club will be stabilized. Barcelona did reject a proposed multi billion euros investment and revenue sharing deal between La Liga and a private equity firm. The company from Dubai is a better option since this company will demand a low interest. Barcelona reported at the La Liga proposed venture, "We consider that the operation that has been announced has not been sufficiently discussed with the clubs (the owner of the tv rights), that the amount is not congruent with the years of duration, and the deal affects part of all clubs' audiovisual rights for the next 50 years." We will watch this development very carefully.
