Many celebrated when it was announced that Gavin Hunt would be the next Kaizer Chiefs, many had sang his accolades and saw it fit to be the next Amakhosi coach. But things sadly ended on a sour note as Hunt was fired from Naturena following a series of poor results. Hunt left Chiefs on the 11th position in the league log, he did however guide them to the CAF Champions League semi-Final.

Hunt was snatched up by Chippa United but this did not last long, he was fired just a couple of months into the job, reasons given were that it was due to poor results he delivered. He has just admitted that he was actually fired because he was too honest.
Hunt is currently an analyst for the AFCON tournament and Supersport and he says he is enjoying it.
He has also received an invitation from Manchester City and he is set to travel to England after the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations finals. “I will attend their training sessions and matches and hopefully learn as much as I can when I get there. I will check out the environment and see if there are opportunities. I got an invitation from a friend, who works at the club,” he explained.
