Pirates locked horns with Swallows at Orlando Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates under the new coach were trying to play the ball more. We did not see too many unnecessary long balls. It was more of trying to build up play.
They started well. They were overloading the side where Hotto and Maele were playing. Swallows players Mngonyama struggle to track Hotto.
Hotto and Eva nga you could see that they were willing to stretch themselves
Hotto looked like he wanted to die in the field of play.
- Lorch Trying to Avoid Injury?
However, Lorch did the opposite, he played like someone trying to avoid getting injured. He had a long-term injury last season. It seems like it was playing in his mind. Monyane was also trying to stretch himself. He was also seen having issues with gramps maybe, Lorch was trying to avoid getting gramps.
Junior Kanye has a lot of respect for Lorch. He is a Bafana player and a former PSL footballer of the year.
However Junior questioned Lorch's commitment on the pitch. He was quite relaxed on Saturday.
- Lorch Catwalking
He was concerned because Lorch was not joining the attack upfront as much as he is supposed to. How many assists did he provide? how many shots at goal did he provide?
Junior recons Lorch was walking around like a model.
He was all over the place. He was supposed to get closer to Eva Nga. However, he was so far from the striker. whenever Eva nga receives the ball he was forced to shoot. The was not much option to pass because according to junior, Lorch was cat walking and far from the striker.
Lorch will often pass a long-range pass forward either around Hotto and Maela or nearer to Mosele and Monare.
Maybe he is playing a free role but it needs to be clearly defined.
What he was doing it can't be an instruction from the coach.
