Kaizer Chiefs were set to play against Wydad Casablanca on Saturday 13th of February in their CAF fixtures. They were supposed to leave for Morocco on Wednesday, 10th of February. But unfortunately, the team was not issued visas to enter Morocco, despite applications being submitted in time.
The Royal Moroccan Football Association, responded by issuing a statement, saying, “The Royal Moroccan Football Association has sent a letter to the Caf Clubs Committee. It is informing it that the Moroccan authorities decided not to allow the Wydad Casablanca match with the SA team Kaizer Chiefs to be held on February 13 in Casablanca for the first round of the African Champions League due to safety and health related to the recent developments of Covid 19. "
EFF Deputy leader responded by says the issue of visas for intra-continental travel represents 'colonial backwardness'. EFF is so vocal against xenophobia and pushes Pan Africanism, and this stance is going to cost them votes and they will disappear from the face of South African political landscape. We cannot have Africans unite only in South Africa, this can't be right.
