Itumeleng Khune answers to retirement speculation || People are enthralled by what he has to say

Itumeleng Khune, 34, answers to retirement speculation.

Imagine his farewell, wow. Itumeleng Khune, the captain of the Kaizer Chiefs, has reacted angrily to reports that he will retire.

Itumeleng Khune of Kaizer Chiefs isn't getting any younger. We're talking about a goalkeeper, after all, and we all know how long they can go.

Do you remember his debut, before he somehow displaced the brilliant but underappreciated Emile Baron? When Baron got hurt, it was in the year 2007. Muhsin Ertugral, the coach at the time, had complete faith in the child from Ventersdorp.

Nobody could have predicted Itumeleng Khune would become a legendary Amakhosi icon when he was 20. Is he better than Doctor Khumalo? That'll have to wait until another day.

Khune of the Kaizer Chiefs is now 34 years old, and his retirement is bound to come up in conversation.

Following a supporter's remark questioning Khune's future on Twitter, the former Bafana Bafana player quickly responded with a stern response.

@oyama yaya, a Twitter user, simply thought how emotional it would be to watch Kaizer Chiefs' Khune retire one day.

Khune is deserving of a final match. "When he retires, I'll cry," he remarked.

The famed goalkeeper, dubbed "Mzansi's number one" by some, answered with a brief but forceful statement. According to the veteran, the proposal is still a long way off.

Khune added a wink and praying hands emojis before saying, "I'm not going to retire anytime soon Fam."

Fam, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon.

There were bound to be a few heated responses to the article. Khune will undoubtedly be inspired by one of the handful that caught his notice. "Plz keep playing, you still have a lot to contribute, look at the likes of Buffon, Ahmed from Egypt, and Iker Casillas," remarked user @TheRealJobe7. You're in the same league as me.

Meanwhile, Khune is scheduled to play in the DStv Compact Cup final this weekend at FNB Stadium, where his Warriors will face Coastal United. Only the weekend of February 15-16 will see DStv Premiership action again.
