Ever since Zakele Lepasa got injured mid-season last season, the Orlando Pirates Football Club striking force has been lacking and short of goals. The situation got worse as the likes of Thembinkosi Lorch, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Gabadinho Mhango also suffered injuries and drop of form, which saw the club go into and signed Ghanaian striker Kwame Peprah who is yet to hit the ground running.

The only recognized striker at the moment other than Peprah is Mabasa, who is sceptical to injuries and has proven himself to be a handy player coming from the bench.
The Buccaneers have in the past deployed Deon Hotto and Vincent Pule In that position, but both couldn't find their scoring boots. The situation has forced the club's hand to go into the market and try to sign one of their long-time targets the 21-year-old Evidence Makgopa.

It is said and believed that Pirates have agreed with Baroka Football Club in principle for the Bafana Bafana international.
