Opinion: 3 Players Who Were Exceptional In Chelsea's Victory Against Aston Villa

The first round of Carabao Cup matches have concluded, and many teams have been eliminated from the competition. Manchester City, the defending champions, have set a good example by advancing to the next round with easy ease.

Chelsea has likewise followed suit, with the exception of Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's Manchester United, who were eliminated by David Moyes' West Ham club. The Blues had a terrible time against Aston Villa, as Dean Smith made the game as difficult for Thomas Tuchel as possible. The three players who stole the show in that crucial match are listed below:

1. Reece James

This was a game to remember for the young Englishman, who turned up one of his best performances of his career. His defensive focus was evident, as he scarcely let opponents get by him while also giving quality for the offense.

Because of his timely runs and superb crosses, he was able to pick up an assist in the game. He possesses the highest overall pass accuracy of any Chelsea player on the pitch, with a 100 percent accuracy on long balls and a 97 percent accuracy on short passes. It remains to be seen whether he can sustain this form into the EPL, where he will face Pep Guardiola's Manchester City.

2. Kepa Arrizabalaga

The Spanish goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is a player who could be considered the game's hero. The goalkeeper, who didn't have to make any big saves during the game, showed off his skills in the penalty shootout.

As his heroics were crucial to his team's development, he managed to get two misses out of the Aston Villa players. He is steadily making his way back into the Chelsea first team.

3. Bertrand Traore

Traore was undoubtedly the finest Villa player on the field, and his absence of a goal or assist should not be overlooked. With his dribbling talent and speed, he posed a lot of problems for the Chelsea defense.

Tuchel had to deal with his one huge chance produced, one important pass, and two shots won on target. His ability to take on defenders was also evident, as seen by his 67 percent dribble success rate. Performances like this have the potential to propel him to the top of the football world.
