Why was Pitso Mosimane not nominated for the Coach of the Year award?

Questions have been raised to ask how multi-award winning coach Pitso Mosimane wasn’t nominated for the coach of year award despite all his achievements.

Mosimane is one of the most decorated coaches on the African continent yet his achievements don’t seem to have received recognition from the governing body.

“The New York Times has questioned why Al Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane was left off the Fifa shortlist for its Coach of the Year award for 2021 having won three international trophies in the period.” - @timeslive.

The former Bafana Bafana mentor has lifted a number of major trophies both with Mamelodi Sundowns and his current club Egyptian Premier League giants Al Ahly.

“Pitso Mosimane in 2021; - Bronze Medal at the Club World Cup with Al Ahly 🥉 - CAF Champions League 🏆 - CAF Super Cup X2 🏆 Did Jingles deserve a nomination at the FIFA The Best awards for Coach of the Year? RT - No Like - Yes #FIFATheBest #TheBest #BetwaySquad” - @Betway_za.

Many football lovers took to social media to share their views on the matter with many believing Mosimane deserved the recognition.

“It’s the FIFA Best awards tonight. Pitso Mosimane isn’t nominated for coach of the year. Despite winning two Champions Leagues in the space of eight months. It isn’t hard to guess why he’s been ignored.” - @rorysmith.
