Ex Mamelodi Sundowns Hlompo Kekana reveal why he rejected Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates

That’s true, Bar Hlompo could have been a Buccaneer or let alone a Glamour boy. He’s out of contract after Mamelodi Sundowns terminated his current deal before it could come to an end. It is believed that Kekana wanted more capital and assurance of his place in the starting line up. After all he has done for the club, they decided to let him go as they already had reinforcements with Andile Jali and Ricardo Coetzee taking his place in the midfield position. Though he told reporters about his decision not to join Kaizer Chiefs or Orlando Pirates.

” At the time, I made the decision based on the age. I know everyone wanted to play for the two teams, but I was still not matured enough to deal with the pressure that comes with playing for these two teams. I’m a player that wants to win trophies, a player that wants to win matches. Both Chiefs and Pirates were doing very well at the time. I love seeing myself play matches. I’ve always been my own biggest fan. There’s nothing that I love than seeing myself play football. That is why I even go back to watch matches which I’d played, that’s the deep connection I have with football ,” Kekana told reporters. Well we enjoyed every minute of him playing for Mamelodi Sundowns and it was a pleasure seeing him win trophies.
