Former Orlando Pirates player Benedict Vilakazi who holds the record at the club as their all time top goalscorer, his son Thato Mohlamme leaded Uthongathi FC to a victory against Richards Bay FC as he is following in his father's footsteps.
Thato Mohlamme who is the son of former Orlando Pirates player Benedict Vilakazi, are following in his father's footsteps as he scored his latest goal for Uthongathi FC against Richards Bay FC. Benedict Vilakazi holds the record at Orlando Pirates for the club's all time top goalscorer on 52 goals. His son Thato Mohlamme might become a legend like his father as he scored the only goal of the match against Richards Bay FC as Uthongathi FC win their latest home fixture 1-0 at full-time.
Thato Mohlamme is not nearly close to scoring 52 goals for one club, but his goal against Richards Bay FC is a start to a great campaign this season in the GladAfrica Championship. Thato Mohlamme scored his goal in the 63rd minute of the match as Uthongathi FC won the match 1-0. Uthongathi FC claimed the fifth place spot on the log as they sit just below Platinum City Rovers, JDR Stars, Ts Sporting FC and Hungry Lions on 5 points.
Uthongathi FC after three matches played has not suffered any losses to date as they drew their opening fixture of the season 0-0 against Hungry Lions and drew their second fixture against Black Leopards 1-1. As the former Orlando Pirates player Benedict Vilakazi son scored against Richards Bay FC, the goal scored against Black Leopards was scored by former Orlando Pirates player Issa Sarr from the penalty spot.
Uthongathi FC is on a good start and Thato Mohlamme is also on a journey to be as great as his father was. It is only the beginning of the season and Mohlamme could be scoring more goals this season for Uthongathi FC.
