There were two South Africa premier soccer clubs that went on to represent the nation in the CAF Champions League this season and many local football fans were hoping for their teams to do better at this season's cup, by atleast reaching the final. The whole of South Africa are still waiting for their first South African final, between Amazulu and Sundowns to say the least.

Sundowns are still in pole position in Group A after gaining three points when they dispatched Al Hilal at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium and Al Ahly are still attending the FIFA Club World Cup, so Al Merrikh will have to hold still for now. Amazulu lost crucial points away to Raja Club in Morocco, ES Setif of Tunisia lead Group B with three points, while Raja of Morocco follow suit in 2nd position. Image credit: Facebook
ES Tunis lead Group C in the CAF Champions League this season with 3 points, while others teams have 1 point or less in that Group. Wydad Casablanca lead Group D in this season's CAF Champions League, while Petróleos of Angola and Zamalek SC of Egypt both have 1 point each after they draw.
