Speculation has swirled that a former Bafana Bafana International could set for an overseas move, this after he confirmed that upon the expiry of his contract he is likely to move from his current club, could a PSL move be on the cards?
Zhejiang Energy Greentown Striker, Dino Ndlovu has shed some light on his immediate future prospects, saying that he may be on the move when he deal with Greentown comes to an end at the end of the Chinese second tier season. Ndlovu has been at the Chinese club since joining them from Azerbaijan giants Qarabag.
The former SuperSport United and Bloemfontein Celtic star has been back in South Africa since November, and due to lockdown restrictions which affected international travel, which meant he was unable to join his teammates for preseason training which began on 8 January.
The 31-year-old striker has revealed that his contract will expire in June, and has expressed disappointment that he could not be in China to discuss his future with the club, although he stated that he is unlikely to be given an extension.
"My contract expires in June. We have not had discussions. We were supposed to sit and talk about it. We spoke about it last year before I left, but we never discussed the numbers or any paperwork. I do believe that they will give me a new contract," Ndlovu said to Soccer Laduma.
However, Ndlovu furthermore added that he feels absolutely at home at Greentown, as he has acquainted himself well to the sorroundings, saying he is actually one of the most important players at the club, and he would like to continues, though he admitted that he would still understand it if the the club tells him to move on.
"I feel at home there. I know the surroundings and I know the club. I am one of the important players in the club. I have not thought about change. I just want to continue at the club," he added.
He moreover suggested that had the Chinese club probably wanted to dispense with his services, he would have discussed with his agent to sign a pre-contract with a potential suitor, but he did not indicate where his next destination would be if he left Greentown.
Ndlovu has had a successful stay in China, in 65 appearances at the club, he has scored an incredible 41 goals for the club in the league. At one point at the club he formed a deadly partnership with former Mamelodi Sundowns striker Nyasha Mushekwi, but they could not help the club to get promotion to the Super league.
