As Amakhosi continues to bolster the team across the board, they have confirmed the return of the team's former midfielder to Naturena.
David Mathebula has been named the head coach of Amakhosi's under-19 youth team and the Reserve team's assistant coach.
The former midfielder's most recent position as a head coach was with Marumo Gallants, where he oversaw the DStv Diski team for the Limpopo team. He left Gallants, as the Siya team revealed in March.
In a brief statement, Chiefs stated that Mathebula will collaborate with other Kaizer Chiefs Youth Development Academy coaches, such as Jimmy Jambo and Tshidiso Letsholonyane, and would support coach Vela Khumalo in the Reserve team that competes in the DStv Diski Challenge.
The fans have shown great interest in the return of David Mathebula to the club, see how they have reacted on twitter:
Totally agree on that one. In fact Thabo Mooki deserves a testimonial game
Welcome back DVD. Though it won’t hurt to have Tsiki Tsiki back as well. His loyalty deserves some rewards Khosi

It seems like Chiefs mean business this time by bringing legends at coaching positions. Welcome home hosi & all the best.
He was coaching. I've seen him a couple of times in the lower leagues. Great signing.
