PSL charges Royal owner Shauwn Mkhize for alleged racist comment about judge

It’s a troubled paradise for the DStv Premiership club owner who has been in and out of court trying to solve her issues with the Premier Soccer League before the start of the current campaign. Oh well, just when she thought things have become better for her following the successful last-minute purchase of Bloemfontein Celtic, now there are more charges. It has been reported that Royal AM owner Shauwn Mkhize has been charged with bringing the Premier Soccer League into disrepute, as it is alleged that she made rac*st and s*xist remarks towards the high court judge Roland Sutherland via a social media video. She’s currently being investigated about the latest allegations.

According to TimesLIVE, the PSL disciplinary committee (DC) will look into everything and the verdict will be made sooner after she appears to the committee on the 28th of September. This will be a hearing meant to dissect everything that’s associated with the allegations towards MaMkhize. When she voiced out her frustrations on the video stating that the ruling by Sutherland was honored “because he’s a white man”, which she believes it was bais for her to lose her case against the PSL. After Sekhukhune United was awarded three points by the PSL, which meant that they got an automatic promotion to the top-flight league, after being crowned the GladAfrica Championship winners. Even though the decision ended up being made in the boardroom, to give Sekhukhune three points, which meant Royal AM had to battle it out in the playoff, which they didn’t bother participating on.

When MaMkhize decided to appeal the Sekhukhune promotion with the South Gauteng High Court, that’s when the deputy judge president Sutherland dismissed their review of arbitration. On top of that, he dismissed their application for leave to appeal, and that made things difficult for the Durban club owner to stand a chance to win the case. Royal AM was fined for not honoring their play-offs matches and their 12 points were deducted, however, was suspended for a year. It seems like the legal battles between the PSL, MaMkhize, and even Sunderland are far from over.
