Orlando Pirates squad 'boosted' as club superstar is back in training
Orlando Pirates has been given a slight boost in strengthening their current competitive squad, as one of their superstar players made it back to training after a long absence. Orlando Pirates defence has improved ever since they conceded their last two goals against Kaizer Chiefs in the league, and has not conceded a goal since bragging with pride a three-match clean sheet run. Although their defence has improved, they could still do with a little bit more experience in their backline.
One of Orlando Pirates very impressive defensive clean sheets was collected from their CAF Confederations Cup first-leg fixture against Oilers FC, and it gave them a boost with a 2-0 away victory which means they could qualify for the next stage in the tournament all depends how they perform at home in the second-leg. Looking back at Pirates last three matches with a defensive point of view, we can say that they are well organised and stronger in the backline.
Orlando Pirates can now add to their defence as it has now come to light that the 34-year-old Happy Jele has graced the club with his presence for training. Happy Jele who not long ago celebrated his 400th appearance in Black and White apparel, picked up a injury against Royal AM in October, and has been absent since. The Middelburg-born player has recuperated to good health and has been spotted back in training with the club as one of the club's co-coaches confirmed.
"Happy Jele is back in training and I'm hoping that he's available for selection this week or next week", stated Mandla Ncikazi. The club captain and superstar defender is a legend for the club considering he has been with the club since 2006 and has been part of a great deal of trophy wins. Ncikazi is unsure when he will make his start again for the club, but that should be very soon as he is back in training which will get him fit as a fiddle.
