Lungisani Ndlela's drastic weight gain post retirement

In the world of football the lives of PSL players revolve around a healthy diet and strict fitness regimes which enables them to have an athletic look.

A number of these professionals often take a step back from these rigorous training routines when they retire.

In the history of the PSL during his playing days retired footballer Lungisani Ndlela was without a doubt one of the most lanky and athletic strikers to ever grace the top tier league in South Africa.

During his illustrious career the 41 year old Frankfort born former footballer had the privilege of plying his trade at Pretoria University, Moroka Swallows, Mamelodi Sundowns, Supersport United and at United FC. In 2012 the former footballer who stood at over 2 metres tall announced his retirement from football and he later worked as a prison warder at Paxton Prison in Mpumalanga to put food on the table.

In his current occupation the former Moroka Swallows and Mamelodi Sundowns attacker is without a doubt one of the most popular prison warders amongst prisoners at the facility given the amount of success he had at club and country level. Several pictures of his post his retirement from football have constantly surfaced on social media.

The former footballer turned prison warder has since showed a drastic weight gain and it seems as if he no longer sticks to a healthy diet. The former footballer who has nine Bafana Bafana caps to his name also appears as if he does no longer frequent the gym as he used to mostly because of his busy schedule.

As a correctional officer Lungisani Ndlela's duties are likely to include making sure that all offenders are housed and even transported to the courts. With the nature of Lungisani Ndlela's current occupation revealed it is safe to say that he is still living a comfortable lifestyle even post his playing days.
