Sundowns prepared to spend this much amount on Mokoena.

SuperSport United have revealed the price tag they have set on their in demand midfielder Teboho Mokoena. The Bafana midfielder has been for some time been a subject to major speculations regarding making a switch to either Kaizer Chiefs or Mamelodi Sundowns.

With no foreign offers coming in for the midfielder, the DStv Premiership log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns now have an upper hand in terms of winning the race to sign the free kick specialist.

There were glimpse of Orlando Pirates also expressing their interest in the 24-year-old but the Buccaneers never made an official bid to SuperSport United. With Orlando Pirates presumably out of the picture, the top 2 sides battling it out for Mokoena are Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

Latest developments reveal that Mamelodi Sundowns have now tabled a lucrative offer alongside first-team players in part for exchange. SuperSport United will do with an extra injection of players given their small squad dept. Teboho Mokoena's departure will leave a huge void in the midfield department of SuperSport United.

The negotiations between the two parties are believed to be ongoing and have elevated to another level in this week. By the look of things, Mamelodi Sundowns are prepared to offer SuperSport United around R16 million plus few of their players to conclude the deal.

The players which Sundowns are offering to SuperSport United are yet to be identified and if Mamelodi Sundowns pull off this deal, it would represent a massive coup and further distance the already dominant Tshwane giants from the chasing pack in the PSL.

In his rise to major recognition, Teboho Mokoena has played 156 games across all competitions for Matsatsantsa and scored 15 goals also providing 17 assists. Mamelodi Sundowns will have to speedy up the process if they are to get their man before the end of this January transfer window.
