Mmodi spent the previous season with Golden Arrows, his second as an abafan bastende player. His sterling performance went as far as to impress the South African national team coach, Hugo Broos. Broos even waited for the player to receive his passport and then called him up again for the national squad.
After losing 12 players, Kaizer Chiefs needed to rebuild their squad, and Pule Mmodi was amongst the players to be brought in. Pule Moti has been strongly linked to Kaizer Chiefs since the start of the transfer window. He
still has a year left on his contract with Abafana Bastende, but Golden Arrows are willing to sell him to Kaizer Chiefs. The negotiations between the two clubs have already begun.
A source from the Golden Arrows camp confirms that Kaizer Chiefs are the team that first showed interest in pule mmodi and that they will remain the first option for Golden Arrows to sell pule mmodi.
