Stuart Baxter, Kaizer Chiefs' head coach, justified the club's decision to allow one of their players to return home due to an emergency.
Over the weekend, the club stated that the player had been granted permission to travel to his native Serbia to spend time with his seriously ill father.
The team has yet to confirm the player's comeback date.Nurkovic had knee surgery lately after suffering an injury and had already been ruled out for a few weeks.
Baxter also informed that Nurkovic will continue his rehabilitation procedure in Serbia after yesterday's game against Supersport United.
Nurkovic is scheduled to return to action in January, and Baxter believes it was only right to let him spend time with his father.
"He's been allowed to return home to be with his very ill father," the English coach explained.
Baxter stated that they are in communication with the player's physicians since he will continue his rehab in Serbia and will have to fight for his spot when he returns to the club.
