Football is a short career when it comes to playing, however we've seen how footballers can get creative after retirement. There are now more opportunities to work within the space in the modern day more especially with the growth of traditional media and social media. Many former footballers are forced to opt for coaching, however with the correct information, it can extend further beyond this. It is always amazing to see former footballers work with the current and the upcoming generations.
This former star rose into the scene with Bidvest Wits in the 90s. He went on to impress and earned an overseas for himself with Grasshopper Club Zurich. He returned to the country after a season and joined Kaizer Chiefs. An overseas team came knocking once again as Moscow scooped him up in 2004 and he went to spent 2 years before joining Orlando Pirates.
Stanton Fredericks sat down for an interview with Robert Marawa on to speak on his latest venture. He went on to look back on his time at the Soweto Giants. He then highlighted the differences between football during his era and now. Stigga revealed that he is currently an agent to a couple of players in the DStv Premiership.
"Dan Cardosa, Thabo Qalinge and Given Simango are among the 5 players I manage"
He shared that Daniel Cardoso, Thabo Qalinge and Given Msimango among the 5 players under his stake. Stigga explained that he prefers to keep it at a minimum in order to provide enough attention to his clients.
Stanton Fredericks gave an update on Daniel Cardoso as he shared that the star has received offers from Japan. He shared that he is looking at looking for a team in Portugal for the defender. It is always good when a former player gets into this type of industry as he is exprienced with the game.
"We are looking at teams abroad for Dan Cardosa i.e. Portugal. Japan has shown interest. We're keeping things open and want to find him a new home."
