According to multiple reports including SABC Sport, both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have engaged on a transfer race for the signature of Tanzanian star Fiston Mayele.

Recent developments from Tanzanian media Azan reveal that Orlando Pirates have taken the first step by submitting their initial offer for the striker. Kaizer Chiefs on the other hand are said to have just been in touch with the player's agent.
Leading the frontline, Mayele guided Young Africans to their first league crown following a 4-year drought. He did it in what was his first season at the club and he might have done enough to earn a move to Premier Soccer League.
With Orlando Pirates taking the lead in the quest for Mayele, Kaizer Chiefs are also expected to prepare an official bid to Young Africans and possibly a bigger offer to beat the Buccaneers and takeover the transfer. Which team will Mayele pick between the Soweto giants?
