See what the Swallows' coach had to say about his team following their 4-2 loss to Sundowns.
Kerr bemoans the Swallows' missed opportunities.
Kerr's side conceded three goals in the first half, but they were far superior in the second half, creating a flurry of chances shortly after the break that they failed to take, which could have resulted in a very different outcome if they had done so.
"It was something we discussed before the game," the Birds' manager said on SuperSport TV.
"You have to admire and respect Mamelodi Sundowns for who they are and what they've accomplished in their careers. However, once you step onto that green field and cross that line, if you aren't prepared, you will be apprehended and prosecuted for your crimes.
"Our right-back scored all three goals, which was a team record. And then, going into the second half, I had to make a change, which was successful. I believe Victor said something to me about how we could have been 4-3 up. We had four good opportunities to score but failed to do so even once. In the dying minutes of the game, Gamildien's goal brings us back into the game, and we commit another defensive blunder. You can't do that against a team like Sundowns or a team of that caliber.
"In the first ten minutes of the second half, we created four good chances for ourselves. KG only has to put the ball in the back of the net right away from the kick-off point. You've only got the goalkeeper to contend with, and now we're on our way to Maritzburg for the rescheduled matchup with them."
