Pitso Mosimane has succeeded once again, leaving many in Egypt in fits of laughter following what took place there!!!
Many people believed that it was already over, that Al Ahly, which is the team coached by Pitso Mosimane, who was born in South Africa, would lose yesterday's game, which would have meant that they would not win the Egyptian league.
After regulation and overtime, yesterday an extraordinary event took place. Al Ahly, led by Pitso Mosimane, broke their losing streak in the Egyptian Premier League with a 2-1 victory over ENPPI, scoring two goals in stoppage time to earn the victory.
The first goal for Al Ahly was scored by Maaloul at the 95' minute mark, and Maaloul scored again at the 98' minute mark, barely after 2 minutes had passed.
Al Ahly has a long-established tradition of scoring in stoppage time. The youth coaches at the club ensure that the youngsters learn that Al Ahly battle till the very end of every match. The Egyptian media refers to it as the "spirit of the red shirt."
The battling spirit of Pitso Mosimane's team caused many spectators to break into fits of laughter. It seems impossible to win a championship in the final seconds of the game, during injury time, by scoring two goals in the space of three minutes.
