Buccaneers: International Break To Assist In Monitoring Injuries & Ease Frustrations

Orlando Pirates will be hoping that some of its players make significant development during the FIFA international break in preparation for a possible comeback to the team before the end of the year.

Due to injury, some of the Buccaneers' key players have been out for the whole of the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season.

Due to injury, players like Thembinkosi Lorch and Zakhele Lepasa have yet to receive a chance to impress co-coaches Mandla Ncikazi and Fadlu Davids.

Lorch was claimed to have sustained a bizarre shoulder injury at home, while Lepasa has been out since December last year owing to an ankle fracture he received against Chippa United.

Prior to the Pirates' Soweto derby match against Kaizer Chiefs last weekend, there had been some positive feedback from the Pirates camp regarding some of the injuries, with Ncikazi confirming at the time that some of the players have been busy with their rehabilitation, with signs that they have been working on returning to full training.

Lorch and Lepasa are among the players undergoing rehabilitation, while Wayne Sandilands is also on his way back, according to Ncikazi.

Richard Ofori is believed to have made some progress in his recovery, though he is still unavailable, and Innocent Maela is said to be close to recovering.

After undergoing surgery, experienced defender and captain Happy Jele is set to remain sidelined for the next few days as he works on his rehabilitation.

Below are some Orlando Pirates players who are unavailable

Zakhele Lepasa ( Forward)

Innocent Maela ( Defender)

Richard Ofori ( Goalkeeper)

Happy Jele ( Defender)

Thembinkosi Lorch ( Forward)

In the absence of these talented stars we have seen bucs' performance becoming low, we wish them a speedy recovery, so that Club and its fans can them back and get the spot that they deserve in the Domestic league.
