Almost in their entire existence, Kaizer Chiefs have reserved iconic jersey numbers for effulgent superstars at the club.
These squad numbers who have gained incredible popularity in the PSL era include jersey number 8,10, 11,12 and 15.
When it comes to the Kazier Chiefs senior team, these aforementioned squad numbers are currently worn by their new signing Yusuf Maart, Keagan Dolly, Khama Billiat, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo and the latter was retired in honour of the club legend Doctor "16V" Khumalo.
In the case of the popular squad number 11, in the early to mid 2000s it was donned by the legendary Emmanuel "Scara" Ngobese who earned cult status at the club. During his spell at the club, the product of the Kazier Chiefs Development Academy who tragedy succumbed to his death on 11 May 2010 was second to none in terms of running riots against the opposition's defence.
In April 2022, Emmanuel Ngobese's teenage son Lwandle topped all the charts on social media when it was widely reported that he had joined the Kaizer Chiefs U-17 side. The 15 year old Katlehong born footballer is now taking great strides in forging a successful football career for himself possible with the aim of surpassing his late father's achievements who won two PSL league titles with Kazier Chiefs.
On Tuesday, the talented left footer has taken to his Facebook account where he was captured at the Kaizer Chiefs Village in Naturena during a training session. From the shared picture on the popular platform, Lwandle Ngobese was spotted wearing the squad number 6 which is currently worn by their new signing Siyethemba Sithebe in the senior team.
On the day, Lwandle Ngobese then decided to caption the shared picture with, "Been trying so hard Lord, please hear my prayers". However, at this point in time we cannot confirm as to whether Lwandle Ngobese was officially allocated the squad number 6 at Kaizer Chiefs.
