PSL Club Grew Tired Of Striker's Behaviour As They Cut All Ties
Date: Tuesday, 30 November
Maritzburg United just had it with one of their striker's behaviour as they have parted ways with the player cutting all ties. Former Black Leopards striker Lefa Hlongwane who joined Maritzburg United in the off-season following his sacking from Black Leopards last year in April, has been a great player for the Team of Choice although he only scored one goal in twelve appearances for Maritzburg United.
Lefa Hlongwane was absent from the club's last two matches played in the Dstv Premiership, and the club has now brought it to light that they have parted ways with the player and that they have cut their ties. A source within the club said, "He has actually left us and it's off-field related issues".
The talented striker missed the last two matches for the club for undisclosed reasons, but it has come out now that the club has had enough of his behaviour. We saw him play on the pitch during matches and he seemed happy at Maritzburg United, but we won't know what relationship he had with the club off the field.
Hlongwane is 28-years-old and is still young enough to end up with many more clubs before he hangs his boots, so him parting ways with Maritzburg United is not necessarily something to worry about now, as he did not wait long to join Maritzburg United after he parted ways with Black Leopards.
Lefa Hlongwane is a striker, but not one of the best strikers in the PSL as his personal best in a league for a single season is only 3 goals. The striker although he does not find the back of the net on a regular, does have the experience as he played for Black Leopards, Jomo Cosmos, Royal Eagles (Royal AM), Marumo Gallants, and his late club Maritzburg United which makes him a perfect fit for a club who is looking for experienced players.
