Opinion - Does Promise Mkhuma need to leave Mamelodi Sundowns to fulfill his true potential?

Regardless of all the success Mamelodi Sundowns have had the club are still lacking in one particular department which they may or may not address in the future as there could be an urgent need to do so

And that particular department is the integration of young players into the first team from the youth academy and not players that the club have bought but players that were groomed by the club at lower levels as a whole

The one reason why Mamelodi Sundowns have failed the integrate young players into the current first team is because they are under severe pressure to win every game and every trophy every season which is not easy to deal and cope with

As well the Brazilians spend huge amounts of money on new players every single season and pay very huge wages as well to those kind of players leaving the younger players at the club very and extremely vulnerable

And at other big clubs around the country specifically at Kaizer Chiefs the club despite the pressure and expectations to win every game and every trophy have over the last couple of years successfully integrated top class youth academy graduates

Those particular players come in the form of Siyabonga Ngezana, Happy Mashiane, Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, Njabulo Blom, Sabelo Radebe just to mention a few who are all first team members at the moment

And that is not the case at Mamelodi Sundowns who do not have as many youth academy graduates at the moment in the first team at the club as it is only filled with star studded names even on the bench

The only few or two Mamelodi Sundowns youth academy graduates have have been the likes of Keletso Magalwa and Promise Mkhuma who have both not been exactly given much opportunity to express themselves at the club

Fortunately for Keletso Magalwa he has been shipped out on loan by Mamelodi Sundowns to Moroka Swallows where he can play more regularly and express himself properly on the pitch

And as for Promise Mkhuma he is still at Mamelodi Sundowns and has not followed the same path as Keletso Magalwa and for his own benefit it would be wise for him to leave the club in order for him to realize his true potential
