A reliable source has revealed to Kick Off magazine that Maritzburg United star player Keagan Buchanan might be leaving the KwaZulu-Natal outfit today. Even though the club has rubbished the claims; the source remains adamant that his departure will happen sooner.

It remains unclear as to why one of Maritzburg United's talisman will decide to leave during this crucial time of the season. The club is struggling once again at the bottom of the DSTV Premiership League table; battling the relegation zone at 15th position.

Head coach Ernst Middendorp and his camp are finding themselves ina very predicament situation; they have already lost two of their star players; in the likes of defender Rushine De Reuck who left for Mamelodi Sundowns. TS Galaxy are also on the verge of revealing Pogiso Sanoka as one of their own.

And now with Buchanan leaving, it leaves Maritzburg United very vulnerable. His next destination is yet to be known; as there is not indication of where he might be going next. The player nor the team are prepared to talk about this issue at the moment; as some believe that it is a very sensitive matter at this point in time.

Meanwhile, one of the member's of Maritzburg's backroom staff who wishes to remain anonymous has vehemently denied that the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder is leaving.

"Some people are trying to destabilise our team. The chairman has not mentioned anything regarding Keagan leaving the club," says the official.
