Opinion: Baxter must change his defence to get better results.

Lightning does not strike twice at the same place, is this the case with Baxter or am I judging him prematurely?

Time will tell. But my fears are based on the way he started. Chiefs were very weak defensively last season and that’s where his focus should have been right from the get-go.

What did really shocked me. I’ve always named my weakest links in Chiefs’ defence – i.e. Eric Mathoho, Siyabonga Ngezana, Rama Mphahlele, etc. I see nothing has been done about these players.

Having said that, we bought good defenders in Njabulo Ngcobo, etc, and Baxter had enough time to build his defensive combination, but obviously he was fast asleep.

We should have beaten Mamelodi Sundowns in 90 minutes had we used our new recruits instead of these tired guys.

Again, I see that familiar face of Parker in the starting line-up. Granted, he scored, but without him, we might have netted more. The man has seen better days. Please just give him the rest he so desires.

You’ll see no more than what you’ve already seen. Enough with experiments!

My advice to Kaizer Chiefs is that they must sell Nurkovic to Pyramids FC and use the money to buy two quality strikers that can score 30 goals between them if they are serious about challenging for the league this season.

Baxter is not going to have it easy this time around, I can sense it. I really don’t understand how Nurkovic played the whole game on Sunday as he offered nothing to our attack and should have been subbed off at half time.

The injury to Alexander was a big blow because he was exceptional throughout the game and just why Agay is still a Chiefs, I’m puzzled.

This guy offers nothing to the team and must be released. Well done to the boys for showing fighting spirit. We are going to need more of that fighting spirit in the league if we are to mount a serious challenge for the Holy Grail that is the PSL title.
